There is competition in all the three areas among different vendors. Oracle and Microsoft are two of the biggest competitors competing in all the three areas. Oracle Corporation is the second largest software company in the world. Oracle Corporation's database is called Oracle RDBMS and its latest release is Oracle 8i. Oracle has more than 70% of the market share in database market. The fast performance and advanced features of Oracle 8i database have almost thrown all other competitors out of the market, including Microsoft SQL Server. It makes sense to achieve skills in something that can provide you with career stability and growth opportunities. Oracle database is a market leader these days. It is easier to get a job with Oracle skills than with any other software skills, the demand for Oracle being so immense.

Oracle also offers a front-end tool called Developer/2000 to make applications. Developer/2000 is one of the most powerful and flexible tools available in the market. It works well with Oracle database in CLIENT/SERVER environment and hence most companies that use Oracle database prefer Developer/2000.

Oracle Corporation also offers their Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software called Oracle SQL Training. Oracle SQL Training is a front-end software, built in Developer/2000, and used in managing financial and accounting affairs of an organization. It is a commercial scale software and consists of many sub-modules. The biggest market share of ERP belongs to the third largest software company of the world called SAP AG, a German software house.
